New Hyundai Verna to feature advanced dual 10.25-inch screens

New Hyundai Verna to feature advanced dual 10.25-inch screens and segment-first switchable unit for infotainment and HVAC controls

The new Hyundai Verna is set to make its global debut on March 21, and the Korean automaker has teased some impressive features of its next-gen midsize sedan. One of the most exciting features of the new Verna is the integrated, dual-screen set-up, which is similar to the one seen on the Ioniq 5. The new Verna will have two 10.25-inch screens – one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital instrument cluster, a significant upgrade from the outgoing Verna's 8-inch touchscreen. The new Verna will also feature an 8-speaker system tuned by Bose, replacing the Arkamys sound module. This feature has become a standard in all Hyundai and Kia models. The Verna will also get segment-first features such as a switchable unit for controlling the infotainment system and HVAC, and heated seats. The touch panel houses both controls, changing its interface and controls at the touch of a button. The Verna will also continue to get ventilated front seats. Hyundai has also teased some other exciting features of the new Verna, including a unique phone holder for the front passenger, a multi-purpose console, and a cooled glove box. The Verna's interior will also feature a dual-tone black and beige finish, with higher variants expected to have a leatherette interior. In terms of dimensions, the new Verna will be longer and wider than its predecessor, measuring 4,535mm in length, 1,765mm in width, and 1,475mm in height.
Its height remains the same, but it will have a 528-litre boot, which is 50 litres more than the outgoing model. Hyundai will offer two 1.5-litre petrol engines with the new Verna, a 115hp naturally aspirated unit, and a 160hp turbocharged unit. The NA unit will be available with lower variants, while the turbo-petrol will be reserved for higher variants. Both engines will be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the NA unit will get a CVT and the turbo-petrol will get a DCT as an option.

The next-gen Verna will be offered in four trims – EX, S, SX, and SX (O). Hyundai is expected to price the new Verna roughly Rs 60,000-1 lakh more than the current model, depending on the variant. The Verna will compete with the facelifted Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in the Indian market. The new Hyundai Verna is set to raise the bar for midsize sedans with its impressive features and upgrades.

The integrated, dual-screen set-up, switchable unit for controlling the infotainment system and HVAC, heated seats, and 8-speaker Bose sound system are some of the features that make the Verna stand out. Additionally, the new Verna will be longer and wider than the outgoing model, offering a bigger boot space. With its powerful petrol engines, the Verna will give tough competition to other midsize sedans in the Indian market. Overall, the new Hyundai Verna is an exciting addition to the midsize sedan segment, and we cannot wait to see how it performs once it hits Indian roads.
