Compact Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV under development 

Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury car manufacturer, has been working on a smaller version of its iconic G-Class SUV. This new model will be a more affordable and practical option for those who love the rugged look and feel of the G-Class but don't want to shell out a fortune for it. The company has not yet released any official information about the new SUV, but rumors suggest that it may be called the GLG or GLB-Class.

The G-Class, also known as the G-Wagen, has been in production since 1979 and has gained a cult following over the years. It was initially designed as a military vehicle but later evolved into a luxury SUV that has been popular among celebrities, off-road enthusiasts, and wealthy consumers. However, with a starting price of around $130,000, it's not an accessible option for most people.

According to reports, the smaller G-Class SUV will be built on the same platform as the upcoming A-Class and GLA-Class models. This will make it more compact and lighter than the current G-Class, which could result in better fuel efficiency and easier handling. The smaller SUV is also expected to have a similar boxy design and rugged features as the G-Class, such as its signature round headlights, upright grille, and flat roofline.
